HOW TO CREATE A COMPACT WINTER SURVIVAL KIT FOR YOUR CAR

October 31st, 2021 by

Do you plan to drive in snowy or icy conditions this winter? Whether you’re in Grove City, OH, or further afield, it’s a good idea to have a winter survival kit in your car. We at Byers Chevrolet know that you might not have lots of extra space for a bulky kit; to help, we’ve come up with a basic list of supplies that can fit in a small, waterproof container.

The key to a small survival kit is to reduce packaging. Fill your coffee can with a small flashlight, extra batteries, a folding emergency blanket, and a whistle. It’s also a good idea to include a few snacks, such as candy or granola bars.

Do you have extra space in your kit? Add a pocket knife; you can use it to cut the bandages in your car’s first aid kit or use it to cut branches for a fire. Other handy items include matches, a lighter, safety pins, and a brightly colored bandana.
